First impressions happen as soon as your guest drives up to your property. A well manicured yard and walkway clear of overgrown plants and debris create a welcome path for your guests to enter. If the walkway is covered in overgrown bushes, it sets a tone that the home isn't well cared for from the start. If you're out of state or don't have time to care for the lawn maintenance yourself, be sure to hire a landscaper to help. A cute doormat can set the tone as well!
To help make your guests' stay as stress free as possible, automated entry is a MUST! With digital locking keypads, you can set codes for your guests, cleaners & other service professionals. This will help you keep track of who is coming & going to help give you peace of mind and make check-in and check-out seamless. This August Keypad and lock works great in our experience! A recent guest just remarked that this was their "first stay at an Airbnb home and it was pleasantly one of the best stays we've had anywhere. Check in and out was easier than we expected."
The first room your guest enters will help create a calm, relaxing, yet fun atmosphere. Make sure to have plenty of seating. One of the perks of the vacation rental my family recently stayed at was 2 sectional couches, which I think was really just one big sectional couch that divided into 2 generous seating areas.

There are 7 of us and we all had a place to sit while we watched movies and relaxed together. Cozy throws and pillows are also an added perk your guests will enjoy. We were in California, so the nights were chilly for us Phoenicians. There was only one blanket downstairs so we ended up using a quilt from one of the beds upstairs. Just a couple of extras in the storage of the couch would have been very helpful.

Board games, puzzles, card games are great to have available for your guests. If there are certain parks, restaurants or attractions near your home, a welcome book filled with your favorites are so helpful. We were celebrating our son's birthday while on vacation and he requested Chinese food. We had been on the road most of the day and the recommendation in the welcome book was perfect! They had timely delivery and the food was delicious! We are so thankful we didn't have to guess at what to eat for dinner. Our family loves supporting local businesses and having a more personal referral can make all the difference.
